Musikamalayan 2018 finalists sing for The Ones That Got Away

“Feels” and “hugots” filled the air as the eleven (11) Musikamalayan 2018 finalists performed their original songs about their “The One That Got Away” or TOTGA live last January 25.

The College of Arts and Science (CAS) Student Council, the event organizer, picked TOTGA as their theme because they wanted a topic that would touch the hearts of the listeners and relate to their experiences.

After all the acts, “If You Only Knew” by Ace Banzuelo, “Malabo” by Khrystelle Salcedo, and “Sana” by Cyra Aguilar won as the Grand Winner, the 1st Runner-Up, and the 2nd Runner-Up, respectively. Salcedo also took home the People’s Choice Award and was hailed as the Best Interpreter, while Aguilar’s music video was recognized the best among the rest.

Musikamalayan is Malayan Colleges Laguna’s (MCL) official songwriting competition open to all MCL students, faculty, and staff.
