The College of Information Technology (CIT) of the Malayan Colleges Laguna (MCL) held its five-day celebration of its College Week with an aim of promoting camaraderie among students and professors.
With the theme “Complete I.T. Experience Right Here”, the CIT Week kicked off on October 11 with a parade of almost 200 participants, fun games and lunch gathering among students and faculty members. The CIT Cup 2011 commenced in the afternoon.
A series of seminars for the students were held on the second day, namely Cloud Computing, Web Development and Adobe Premier Pro.
A programming contest and CIT Cup Badminton took place on October 13. Students slugged it out in the IT Wizards Quiz Bee and DOTA Tournament on October 14. The Finals of the DOTA Tournament also happened on the last day of the event, October 15.
The CIT Cup Championship, CIT Social Night and awarding ceremonies capped the 5-day event.
According to Khristian G. Kikuchi, CIT’s Associate Dean, the event is being held every year to “allow the students to experience the different aspects of life.”
“It is also time for students and professors to interact with each other outside the regular classroom set-up,” he said.
He added that the event also aims to unite the whole CIT community and make the students feel that “they are at home with MCL.”
Now on its 3rd year, the annual CIT Week is staged every October.
