
Malayan Colleges Laguna Hosts The First Entrepreneurship Students Summit

February 20, 2010, was really a big day for the Future Entrepreneurs of Laguna. A full packed crowd attended the “First Laguna Entrepreneurship Students’ Summit.” The event was held at the Francisco Balagtas Auditorium of Malayan Colleges Laguna.
The summit was organized by the third year BS in Entrepreneurship students of the E.T. Yuchengco College of Business in cooperation with the Entrepreneurship Educators’ Association of the Philippines Inc. (ENEDA) – Laguna Chapter with the following objectives: 1.Build camaraderie among business students in the province; 2. Strengthen the Entrepreneurship program; 3. Form Young Entrepreneurs Society (YES) – Laguna Chapter; and, 4. Enhance awareness of business opportunities available in the region.
A total of three hundred fifty two delegates from different colleges and universities in Laguna joined and participated in the said event. The schools present were Dalubhasaan ng Lungsod ng San Pablo (DLSP), Laguna State Polytechnic University (LSPU), System Technology Institute (STI) Sta. Cruz, Pamantasan ng Cabuyao (PNC), Saint Michael’s College of Laguna (SMCL), Lyceum of the Philippines University - Calamba, San Pablo Colleges, La Consolacion College- Binan, Philippine Women’s University - Sta. Cruz and of course, Malayan Colleges Laguna. The organizers invited a former Dean of the Far Eastern University, Dean Danny A. Cabulay, who talked on the topic “Scanning the Region for Strategic Business Opportunities”. The speaker did a remarkable job in enlightening the participants by sharing his expertise and experiences on the topic.
Also highlighted in the event was the induction of officers of Entrepreneurship Educators Association of the Philippines (ENEDA) – Laguna Chapter by Prof. Jaime C. Ignacio, ENEDA National President who came all the way from Manila to induct the following:
