The Center for Guidance and Counseling (CGC) aims to develop the total well-being of students as individuals and as members of society. The CGC supports the school in creating an environment that is conducive to learning and in providing the means to help students achieve their optimum potentials.
Through its different services, the CGC hopes to assist the students attain better self awareness and understanding for them to develop realistic and healthy life goals and to adopt proper conduct in reaching these goals.
The following are the essential services of the CGC:
- Individual Assessment. Systematically identifies the characteristics and potentials of every student in order to promote better self-awareness and self-understanding.
- Counseling & Consultation. Counseling focuses on the student's growth and adjustment as well as problem-solving and decision making needs. Consultation is done through instructions, informational conferences and facilitation to help address school-related concerns.
- Information service. Provides the student with sufficient educational, social, and occupational data as guide in his/her choices and decisions.
- Testing service. Assists the student to achieve self-knowledge and self-realization through standardized psychological tests that would help him make accurate decisions on programs and processes related to learning.
- Research and evaluation service. Aims to provide empirically based data relevant to the ultimate goal of implementing counseling.
